A recognised leader in personal injury law, Andrew is a co-author of Thomson Reuter’s Personal Injury Law Manual NSW. He is a former director of the Motor Accidents Authority and former Chair of the New South Wales Bar Association’s Common Law Committee. He has also served as an Acting District Court Judge in the late 1990’s. Andrew was recognised as the Australian Lawyer Alliance’s member of the year in 2018, and notably, is the spokesperson for the Australian Lawyers Alliance in respect of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. He has also appeared and made submissions with Peter Semmler QC on behalf of the Australian Lawyers Alliance before the Ipp Inquiry in 2001.
Andrew holds a Doctorate in Philosophy and a Master of Arts (with distinction) from the University of London, a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney and Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University. He also holds the rank of Colonel in the Australian Army Reserve and the Reserve Forces Decoration.
