Our Clerk, Karen Walker-Flynn, is one of the most experienced barrister’s clerks in Australia and has further details on each barrister’s particular skill-sets and can also assist in-house and corporate counsel with further information on briefing the barristers direct.
Founded in 1977 as ’16 Wardell’, our chambers is named after Robert Wardell, one of colonial Australia’s first barristers and responsible for the original division of the roles of solicitor and barrister. We were then located at 16th Floor, 39 Martin Place and moved to our current location in the nearby St. James Centre on Elizabeth St in June 2017, following a resumption to make way for the new Metro station at Martin Place.
Wardell has long been renowned for both its depth and breadth of legal knowledge and experience, with leaders and specialists in all areas of law. Those briefing the floor benefit from our true environment of collegiality where an open-door policy is actively encouraged and practiced by members who freely share their legal expertise and discuss questions of law.
The floor has two rooms for readers. Prospective readers should contact our clerk, Karen Walker-Flynn:
