Maxine accepts briefs in all areas of law. Her principal practice areas are criminal law (including white collar and corporate crime), administrative and public law, disciplinary matters, inquests/inquiries and tort law.
Prior to joining Wardell Chambers, Maxine was a senior prosecutor in the Organised Crime and National Security branch of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, where she prosecuted serious federal crimes such as drug importation, terrorism, money laundering and war crimes.
Before that, Maxine was a Senior Associate at Streeton Lawyers, where her primary areas of practice were state and federal crime, coronial inquests and commissions of inquiry. She also practised in professional disciplinary, discrimination and tort matters, and has taught criminal and civil procedure at the University of Sydney Law School.
Maxine appears in all State and Federal courts and tribunals in New South Wales, including regional areas, and accepts some interstate briefs.
