Maxine’s principal areas of practice are criminal law (including white collar and regulatory crime), discrimination, administrative and public law, inquests/inquiries and torts.

Prior to joining Wardell Chambers, Maxine was a senior prosecutor in the Organised Crime and National Security branch of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, where she prosecuted serious federal crimes such as drug importation, terrorism, money laundering and war crimes.

Before that, Maxine was a senior associate at Streeton Lawyers, where her practice included state and federal crime, coronial inquests and commissions of inquiry, discrimination and torts. She has also taught criminal and civil procedure at the University of Sydney Law School.

Maxine appears in all State and Federal courts and tribunals in New South Wales, including regional areas, and accepts some interstate briefs.
